Building on the concept of our first library, Dugayong Free Library was established in June 2012. Located in Dugayong, Echague, Isabela, Dugayong Free Library reaches out to approximately 150 school-going children. Similar to Nardy’s Library, it houses a collective total of 1800 books, ranging from pre-school fiction to adult fiction and non fiction as well as a range of encyclopedias. Managed by 8 local volunteers, Dugayong Free Library is equipped with a radio, children’s CDs, posters, teaching equipment and education games. With close partnership with Dugayong School (located just adjacent to the library), its teachers and our local volunteers aim to develop a comprehensive learning programme for the school-going children using the library’s resources. Since its establishment, approximately 50 books are loaned out per month.
